History

May 1953	Sumihiro Coal Shokai Co., Ltd. established. Company begins operations as the Fukuyama area dealer of Sumitomo Coal Mining Co., Ltd.
May 1963	As energy demand shifts from coal to oil, range of products traded broadens to include petroleum products, high-pressure gases, welding materials, wireless devices and marine equipment. Company name is changed to Sumihiro Shokai Co., Ltd..
1981	Company begins handling steel products.
1983	Company begins handling main and auxiliary ship engines
October 1988	Company name is changed to Sumihiro Co., Ltd. and general trading house format adopted. Scope of business operations broadens to include trading of a full range of equipment for shipbuilders.
June 2003	Launch of shipbuilding equipment marketing and transportation businesses for the Tsuneishi Group yard at Cebu in the Philippines.
October 2005	Launch of shipbuilding equipment marketing and transportation businesses for the Tsuneishi Group yards at Xiushan in China. Company also begins importing and marketing equipment made in China.
January 2007	With the reorganization of Tsuneishi Group, 11 affiliates are integrated. Company is renamed to Tsuneishi Holdings Corporation Sumihiro Company.
December 2008	Acquisition of ISO14001 and ISO9001 certification
January 2011	Company is spun off from Tsuneishi Holdings Corporation. Company becomes Tsuneishi Trading Co., Ltd.
